This week had only one class and then went on break but the story we did get was quite a long one unless you read the shorter version which I did not.
The White Snake- Xu Xuan was the oldest member of his family living under his cop brother in law. Xu Xuan would through a rainy day and a short boat trip meet Madam White and Little green who would manipulate Xu to eventually becoming her wife after an incident that costed his original life I a crime committed by Madam White. After she committed a second crime that puts Xu Xuan in a bad position, he calls upon an abbot who would reveal the truth behind the both Green and White evil spirits ending in a legacy of not giving into lust. That was a very, very brief version of the story because it is a little over thirty pages but that’s what I got from the plot. It was interesting to see that Madam White for the most part was a good wife for the most part but she still gave false crimes to Xu along with the fact she never says his name outright except in the very end of her rope in the story, only referring to him as “Husband” which is quite an obvious look on how she actually sees Xu for the story. In the times she reveals her snake form makes two men traumatized initially to report it later like witchcraft almost and when she is contained by the abbots bowl. It was a interesting take on why you shouldn’t give into lust even though it can be boiled down to as the man being innocent and gaslighted by the wife for everything he finds suspicious about her actions. Fun read but not exactly something to take away important lessons from in my eyes.
Thanksgiving break- It was a very barebones break honestly. I was looking forward to winter break more than this one due to how little time I had to do what I wanted and wanted to treat it as a work break but that wasn’t the case, not by a longshot. To be frank, I didn’t plan to get involved in the house as much as I did and after helping around and doing chores I haven’t done in forever made me to exasperated to even begin thinking of other assignments. It would be nice if everything worked out as intended but refunds exist for a reason, not everything works out even when you have everything ready you cant control how the world impacts you at all. I slept so long I thought it was a new year too, my bed was way to comfy for me.
